INHABITAT STUDY HOUSE 15
Within the leafy forests of trees and shrubs bathed by the warm coastal sunlight, an unusually curved plot with a panoramic view of the majestic Mediterranean Sea is the starting-point for creating a lookout house: avant-garde architecture in the shape of a bay window that is carefully concealed within the natural vegetation, creating extraordinary atmospheres.
This unconventional project makes it possible to experience the sense of freedom that nature offers from the very inside of the dwelling. Designed as two horizontal exposed concrete surfaces that are connected together by an expanse of glass, the house seemingly floats in the air, showing the essence of simplicity in its pure form volume. Due to its transparency, it allows a perfect connection between indoors and outdoors.
The purity of the main piece is achieved through the separation with the ground on which it sits through a forest of pillars. These pillars are ramifications that leave the ground and connect with the floor slab, creating amongst them a extraordinary outdoor environment which merges with the poolside space.
A MODERN DAY TREE HOUSE
This house is developed on a single floor which sits on an elevated position above the land, overlooking a green canopy and the background landscape that originates on the Mediterranean coast. A driveway runs longitudinally along the plot by the dry-stone upper boundary wall, leading into a shaded parking area for two vehicles also made with dry-stone. A spiral staircase unites the access with the main floor of the house and the exterior and swimming pool areas.
On entering the house itself, the space created to the left, where there are no walls or interior divisions, is the living-dining room. To the right there is a central wooden core that runs along the full length of the floor to create a separation between spaces and ensure the privacy of the night area. The material nature of this nucleus tries to mimetize with the features of the plot and maintain the sober and pleasant atmosphere of the place.
In this part of the house we find the kitchen with adjoining storage space, a guest toilet, a laundry room, three generous bedrooms with their own bathrooms and a considerably sized master suite with bathroom, dressing room and living room. The entire floor has covered outdoor terraces creating comfortable living spaces both in the living room as in the kitchen or in the master suite that prolong the interior spaces and create a complete connection between human and nature.
